DIY - Installing Double DIn After Market Stereo 2003 - 2008 Corolla

This is a DIY for a 03 - 08 Corolla on how to put a double din radio in your car .

Before I took the car apart I did the wiring and it is very simple - Color for Color instructions back of package .

I used a plastic panel remover tool and removed the plastic that is around the shifter . No need to disconnect the lighter plug you can set it aside .

You will see two screws that hold the A/C panel on the bottom - Be careful you do not drop them cause they can be hard to find - Keep a magnet handy - Then you need to pull out the middle knob and you will see a screw behind there - Once you removed all 3 screws then you can with your plastic panel remover tool pull the center piece out . That too you do not have to disconnect any plugs just put on the side you will have plenty of room . 

Now here be very very careful cause you have 4 screws and they are deep and you can drop these screws and loose them - If you have a magnet screw set use them again keep a magnet handy and when you unscrew these screws do not attempt to take them out with the tool just let them sit there and with a magnet you slide it in there and pull out each screw - I recommend you do these one at a time . When you put them back use fingers to at least stick the tip of the screw in and let rest there . Then you can remove and disconnect the stereo . 

Then you remove the vent panel off the radio by gently un clipping it 

Yes you will need a stereo installation kit because of the face of the stereo to make it look nice .

Plug the stereo in and please test before you put it all back together - Make sure you plug in the antenna . 

Then when you are done you can reverse the process and have fun listening to music .

DIY - Radio Installation 2000 Infiniti I30

This is for a 2000 Infiniti I30 with a Bose system 

Remove the vent first with a flat head screw driver - Then you can remove the bottom plate where the shift selector is - Then you will see 2 screws on top and the other two screws under the ashtray - Then carefully unplug the stereo 

Now with the radio installation kit for single or double din - You will need to make sure that you remove the A/C switch and the ashtray - The radio screws WILL NOT come out - You have to put the new stereo and the A/C switch and ashtray on the new bracket - Once you put it all together you will see how easy it is to do 

Make sure you get the correct wire kit - On my vehicle I didn't need anything special other then the RCA male jack ends - You must connect the antenna and you must put the two blue wires to a hot wire to turn the amp on that the Bose system has in the trunk - This stereo is a DVD player that plays videos to I had to ground the wire to keep the TV in while driving - Again I did notice if the antenna is NOT connected during testing the stereo will not come on - The blue wire has to be connected to the power line as well for the rear speakers to work - Once you are done then you can reinstall the stereo

DIY 9th Gen Corolla Radio Installation

This is a DIY on how to remove and replace your stereo in your 9th  gen corolla . First things you need is a after market stereo , the face plate and the radio wire . When removing the vent face the OEM stereo face will come apart leaving the main component in the car . Once you pull forward gently then you disconnect the wire that goes from the face pate to the stereo . Then you can unscrew the stereo from its brackets . Then once you remove the main part of the stereo then you install the new face plate and wire up the after market stereo to the OEM set up . 

Then you reinstall the stereo with the new face plate back in . Before you put the vents back on make sure everything is working and fits .

Then put the vent face back on and there you have it a easy install .

DIY - Corolla 93 - 97 Replacement Antenna

This is a DIY on a aftermarket OEM replica stereo antenna . Before purchasing one of these antennas make sure you measure screw to screw on the black face mount . There are two ways you can replace your antenna . I will put both ways but I did a full antenna replacement because my cable was longer then the OEM one which is smaller and connects to a extension adapter . I will show you both ways , You choose which one you want to do .

The reason I was replacing my antenna was because it was bent and wouldn't go down to hide . The top one is the  new one the bottom one is the old bent one .

To replace your antenna by the extension cable some cares have the A/C vent ( Crotch Cooler )  tube under the steering wheel , Removes that and then remove the kick panel .  Reach up underneath by the hood lever and you will feel the extension cable , Pull down and disconnect .

Now if your gonna place the whole cable to the radio then you remove the speed odometer face and remove the stereo then disconnect the antenna cable . But remember in both methods you still have to remove the kick panel where the fuse box is located . You do no have to remove the crotch vent tube for this .

The reason you remove the face plate for the speed odometer is cause the antenna cable runs over the plate and is clipped up above so before pulling the cable remove these clips by cutting the green tape and when you run the new cable remember to put these back on .

Then you unscrew the outside of the antenna then in my case both photos are showing either from the extension or the radio , Some people use stereo wire in this case I had a roll of thin hard wire and tied it around the male end and secure it and then pull the outside of the antenna and let the wore loom just follow the path . If you don't use some kind of wire it will be hard to put the antenna cable back down the hole especially with all the wires by the fuse box .

Make sure when you remove the outside antenna that the plastic guide comes out because the new one comes with a new one . The reason for the hard plastic is cause its a guide when closing the antenna .

 When your putting the antenna back you reverse the procedure pull from the inside of the wire and pull the antenna cable through whether you go to the radio or to the extension , then put everything back .
