DIY Remove and Replace Starter Infiniti I30

This is a DIY on how to replace a starter for a 2000 Infiniti I30 which is the same as a Nissan Maxima or Nissan Cefiro

First you should remove the battery post so that you have no power going to the car

Then you need to remove the air box intake

You will see the starter , Then you remove the power cable connecting to the starter , Move the lines out of the way . You can loosen the bolt toward you very easily .

As you can see trying to loosen that second bolt from the top was very tight . So what what I did below was remove the driver side tire

With a extension it was easier to get to that bolt and loosen it . Once you have it loosen you can either continue to remove the bolt or you can go back to the top , but just to let you know the bottom for me I was able to turn the ratchet better .

I matched up the starter

Once you have it off then you can put it back on the same way you took it off .

DIY - Replacing Lower Control Arms & Sway Bar Links 2000 Infiniti I300

This is a DIY on how to remove and replace lower control arms and front sway bar links for a 2000 Infiniti I30

You DO NOT have to remove the outer tie rod when you do this DIY , Start off by removing the sway bar links from the top .

In the photo above you can start by removing the ball joints first in the yellow arrow ( Details below on how to remove that part ) Then you can loosen the nut where the green arrow is showing , From there you can remove the red and pink arrow bolts . Then once you have it off you can finish taking off the green nut from the bracket to slide in the new lower control arm .

I used a ball joint separator as photo above .

This is where in the photo above the green arrow was pointed , The driver side has no room to remove it all the way that's why I recommend you loosen that nut this was while the bracket is still braced to the frame you can have torque .

Once you remove everything then you can put the parts back on the same way you have taken it off . If you haven't had a alignment go out and get one but none is needed for this DIY .

Parts where purchased from eBay at a great deal for lower control arm , sway bar links and outer tie rod , But I didn't need the outer tie rod at this time .

DIY How to Remove Plasti Dip

This is a DIY on how to remove plasti dip off your vehicle safely .

I recently plasti dip the center of my wheels and I wanted to remove the plasti dip . I found out that if you do not put alot of coats of the plasti dip then it will not peel off easily .

After research I learned that Goo Gone for Automotive is safe for clear coats . This has citrus formula in it ,

It is good of you can find a spray bottle and pour the goo gone in the container so that you can spray and let the goo gone sit for about a minute to soak the plasti dip then it will be easily to wipe off .

As you can see in this photo the plasti dip is peeling up .

As a final step I sprayed the wheels again with goo gone then gave a final wipe , from there I sprayed Dr. Mechanico to remove any grease or oil left behind , This degrease is safe for your wheels because it is organic degrease . It wont eat the oil from your hands like the other kinds .

Once you sprayed your degrease then you can wash with car soap and if you happen to spray the goo gone with your wheels on makes sure you degrease the rotors then take it for a test drive to make sure your brakes burn off any chemicals on the rotors .
