DIY - Front Stud Removal and Remplacement 2005 Corolla

This is a DIY for a 9th gen Corolla/Altis or any type of Toyota 

You will noticed Toyotas most likely have notches - If you do NOT see a notch usually the whole hub has to be replaced on certain vehicles - 

This is the stud part number - With a sledge hammer knock out the broken or all the studs if you decide to add extended lug nuts or replacing worn out studs

With the Auto Zone stud I had to modify the back end of the stud by grinding a round edge because the store was flat as you can see in the photo - You don't have to go all the way around as long as you round the edge that is closest to the bearing - If you choose not to grind the edge then go to Toyota for the OEM studs 

Some how I found this version of lug nut and used it to pull in the stud - You can use a over size but as well 

DO NOT PUT ANY OIL OR ANTI SEIZE when installing a stud - Line up the little mark lines - Make sure the stud is straight - Make sure the flat edge you grinded is facing bearing and you have clearance - Try spinning the hub and listen for noises

With your breaker bar or air gun pull in the stud TIGHTLY 

Make sure stud is completely flat - Then you can put it all back together

DIY - Troubleshooting Rear Back Up Lights Not Working 2005 Toyota Corolla

This DIY is for ANY 9nth Generation Corolla 

When you have checked the bulbs and the wires in the elbow of the trunk .

I don't know why mine was missing a piece but as I did for the trunk light I traced my rear back up light wire to this opened end box . 

You have to pull down the driver side carpet to find this junction of wires .

As you can see the 3 wires are connected to get the both back up lights to work . 

The bottom 2 wires are for the trunk light which I do have another DIY on it . 

These are many angles of how it should look - I don't know what was missing but if I go to a junk yard I will look for this piece .

DIY - Rear Coil Over Struts 2005 Toyota Corolla

This is a DIY for a 2005 Toyota Corolla replacing my stock struts to coil over God Speed struts .

There are 2 nuts inside the trunk , You will need to peel back the trunk carpet behind the seats of each side . 

You will see underneath the strut there is 1 bolt you must remove .

Then you can remove the lower nut and remove the entire strut .

Match the struts up and then replace them the same way you took off the other strut .

Once you have your coil over struts installed you can adjust the height level to your taking .

DIY - Driver side Window Switch Replacement 2002 Honda CRV

This is a DIY for a 2002 Honda CRV driver side window switch .

Before you determine if you need the main switch you must have a good diagnosis .

Some times it can be the motor if it is let the motor die before you replace any window motor .

If the window goes up and with the other switch but not the drivers switch then that is one outcome . 

They call this the main switch because if this fails the other windows won't work correctly from this area . 

You need to pull up the switch from the snaps . You do not need to take the door panel off .

Unscrew the screws located on the bottom . 

Once you have it off match up the switch and then put it all back . 

Windows should be working again .
