DIY Replacing Harmonic Balancer 2000 Infiniti I30

This is a DIY on how to replace a harmonic balancer on a 2000 Infiniti I30

First thing you must do is to remove the belts - You have the belt adjuster to the right that tightens the alternator and air condition - Then to your left you have the power steering pump that needs to be loosen as well - Once you have the belts off then you can continue

With a impact wrench you remove the middle bolt then with a pulley gently remove the harmonic balancer

Make sure after you remove the harmonic balancer check to make sure the key is still in place and there is no scratches or burrs on the shaft - Then you can replace the timing cover shaft seal

Make sure the two balancer are equal - Gently slide the balancer where the key will slide through the balancer with our force

Then with a impact you can tighten the harmonic balancer - then you can put the belt back on and check for leaks

This is the best time to replace both belts and any other parts that look worn out especially on a car with over 100.000 miles on it whether leaking or not replace now then later

DIY Replacing A/C & Alternator Belt Adjuster 2000 Infiniti I30

This is a DIY on a 2000 Infiniti I30 on how to replace a alternator and a/c belt tensioner

First thing you do is to loosen up the belt from the top where the adjusting screw is located

Once the belt is loose then you can remove the belt then take the pulley off - from there you remove the three bolts holding the bracket

This is what it looks like apart - you must use the old brace for the tensioner

This is what it looks like before you install the belt tensioner back

You have to put this back first before you put the pulley wheel

Then adjust the belt with a new belt

Make sure the belt is properly tight so you can avoid squeaking - this belt is in the front of the power steering belt - might be a good time to change both

DIY Corolla 1zz Belt Tensioner Replacement

This DIY is on a Corolla with a 1zz motor , This belt tensioner has 350,000 miles on it and the only reason this one is being replaced is cause its been on to long not because of failure . I had to rent the belt tensoiner tool because the bolt to take out the belt tensioner leaves you no room for a ratchet and to tight for a open end wrench .

First thing I did was use a open end wrench to loosen the belt tensioner to remove the belt .

Then with my belt tensioner tool I removed the bolt that holds it to the block , At first I loosened it up before removing completely.

Then I removed the mini shock bolt then I went to unscrew the main bolt to the tensioner . It is very tight in there so be careful for the A/C line to not disturb it , Then you slide out the tensioner from the bottom .

Once removed then you put it back together in the same steps

Here is a diagram on how your belt runs .
